game, match, sport
这三个词均可指体育运动或比赛。在英国英语中，习惯用a game of football或a football match，而不说a football game。而在美国英语中则可以用a football game。sport多指娱乐或竞赛性的“体育活动”，通常为户外活动；当表示运动项目时，要用sports,而不用games。试比较：
