用法说明
whether, if
这两个词在间接引语中，均可用来引导一个没有疑问词的问句。例如：
I worry about whether(或if) I hurt her feelings. 我担心是不是伤了她的感情。
下面是几种只能用whether的情况：
1. 当用在正式文体中，提出两种选择时，前者更常用。例如：
You will have to pay whether you want to or not. 不管你愿不愿意，你必须付款。
2. 在非间接引语结构中，只能用whether。例如：
Whether he can arrive here on time is another matter. 他是不是能按时到达这儿，则是另外一回事。
3. 名词、介词之后及不定式之前，只能用whether。例如：
It's your decision whether you go or stay.是去还是留要你自己拿主意。
I haven't settled the question of whether I'll go back home.我是不是回家还没有定。
The question is whether to go or stay.问题是：是去，还是留。
