1. (in or of) the past; formerly; previously

2. go over; pass by

♦ 你在这里等着, 我~看看。 You wait here, I'll go over and see.

♦ 一辆公共汽车刚~。 A bus has just passed by.

3. (used after a verb to indicate motion away from the speaker)

♦ 把车开~。 Drive the car over (there).

♦ 一只燕子飞~了。 A swallow flew past.

4. (used after a verb to indicate turning away from the speaker)
