front
在现代英语中，我们一般不用before这个介词来表示地点，要用in front of这个短语。in front of用于一事物与另一事物分开的情况下，其意思与behind相反。当一物件处于另一物件之中或成为其一部分时，常用at the front of或in the front of，其意思与at the back of或in the back of相反。试比较：
A dog ran out in front of the bus.一只狗跑到汽车的前面。
I got a seat in the front of the bus.我在汽车的前部找了个位子。
I sat at the front of the cinema.我坐在电影院的前几排。
表示马路、河流、房屋等对面的东西时，不能用in front of，一般常用opposite或facing等。例如：
There's a nice little cafe opposite our house.
