用法说明
escape, flee, fly, run away
这几个词都含“逃脱”之义。其区别在于:
escape作“躲避”,“逃避”解时,作及物动词,也可后接动名词;
表示“从(某地或某人手中)逃脱时”,需要用介词from。例如:
I can't escape meeting him, for we are colleagues.我们是同事,我无法避开他。
They tried to escape prison.他们想方设法避免坐牢。
They tried to escape from prison.他们试图越狱但未成功。
flee文学色彩较浓,多指由于害怕而逃走,既可作及物动词,也可作不及物动词。例如:
We all fled the burning house.我们都从着火的屋子里逃了出来。
The spectators fled in panic when the bull got loose.那只公牛挣开束缚,吓得观众四散逃走。
fly较为正式,与flee的含义与用法相似,但已经不常用。例如:
The dethroned King flew the country.被废黜的国王匆忙逃往国外。
run away表示匆忙“逃跑”或“跑开”,常指离家出走。例如:
They ran away together to get married.他们私奔结了婚。
