interfere, intervene, meddle, tamper

这四个词都含有“干涉”、“干预”之义。其区别在于：interfere常与in或with搭配。interfere in表示干预他人的事情，宾语为事情；interfere with表示打扰或妨碍，宾语可为人或事，例如：

We don't interfere in the internal affairs of other countries.我们不干涉别国内政。

Don't interfere with him when he is busy.他忙的时候别去打扰他。

Anxiety can interfere with children's performance at school. 焦虑不安会影响孩子们的在校表现。

intervene常与in或between搭配。intervene in侧重表示借口事由或为袒护一方而以武力或武力威胁进行“干涉”。也常常表示“斡旋”、“调解”，其宾语常为dispute, discussion, disagreement, quarrel, debate等。intervene between表示“在…之间进行调解”，宾语为当事人，例如：

When rioting broke out, the police were obliged to intervene. 暴乱发生后，警察不得不干预。

It is necessary for you to intervene in the debate.你有必要亲自调停这场辩论。

Someone should intervene between them when they are quarreling so bitterly. 他们正吵得厉害，得有个人从中调解一下才好。

meddle常与in或with搭配，一般后接表物的名词。meddle in表示多管闲事，擅自插手干涉他人的事情；meddle with表示自己不懂而“乱弄”某物，例如：

meddle in sb.'s family disputes干涉他人家庭纠纷

Don't meddle with the TV set.别瞎摆弄电视机。

tamper与with搭配，一般后接表物的名词，侧重表示以损害或削弱某人或某事为目的进行“干涉”，以及篡改或以不正当手段收买他人，例如：

It is not easy to tamper with the privileges of the nobility.要削弱贵族们的特权很难。

They had tampered with the jury.他们收买了陪审团。
