assure, ensure, guarantee
这三个词都表示“保证”，但侧重点不同。
assure通常表示向某人“保证”，强调让对方放心；ensure侧重在设法或采取措施“保证”某事能够成功；而guarantee则含有较强的允诺之义，侧重表示在提供服务、付款、质量等方面作出“担保”。试比较：
We should assure them of their safety.我们应当向他们讲明，他们不会出事。
We should ensure their safety.我们应(采取措施)确保他们的安全。
We must guarantee their safety,otherwise they won't do it.我们必须作出承诺，否则他们就不干了。
