before, in front of
before这个介词一般指时间,表示空间则常用in front of,例如:
I must leave before 9 o'clock.9点前我必须离开。
It's parked in front of the post office.那车就停在邮局门口。
before在下列情况下可以指地点:
1谈到人或物在诸如排队、列表、书面材料中的顺序,尤其用于所指地点与时间或先后顺序密切相关时,例如:
Do you mind? I was before(=in front of) you!你介意吗? 我刚才就排在你前头!
Her name comes before mine in the alphabet.按字母顺序,她的名字排在我前头。
