detach, disconnect

这两个词都表示“使分开”或“使分离”。

detach表示“分离”完整的物体，使分离后的部件保持原本独立性，也表示与抽象物体的“分离”，例如：

The workers detached the locomotive from the train.工人们把机车与列车脱开。

In the past few years, she learned to detach herself from the world.在过去的几年里，她学会了超脱。

disconnect表示使相连的物体“分离”，表示“挂断”电话时，只能用disconnect，例如：

I disconnected the lamp from the wall.我把灯从墙上卸了下来。

They got disconnected in the middle of a sentence.他们话说到一半，电话就断了。
