1. jump; leap; bounce

♦ 高兴得~起来 jump for (or with) joy

♦ ~下自行车 jump off a bicycle

♦ ~过一条沟 leap over a ditch

♦ 他~过了二米的高度。 He cleared two metres in the high jump.

♦ 球在篮框上~了一下滚入篮内。 With one bounce on the ring the ball rolled into the basketball net.

2. move up and down; beat

♦ 他激动得心直~。 His heart was throbbing with excitement.

♦ 我眼皮老是~。 My eyelids keep twitching all the time.

3. skip (over); make omissions

♦ 从第一页~到第五页 jump from page 1 to page 5

♦ ~过了三页 skip over three pages

♦ ~一针 drop a stitch (in knitting)
